EL SEÑOR DE CHOCÁN

La imagen del Señor de Chocán se encuentra en el templo  San Francisco Javier, en Querecotillo. Su festividad tiene una antigüedad de más de 400 años.

La tradición dice que entre las huestes de Pizarro vino alguien que sabía de escultura. En las caminatas por el Chira en el sitio denominado Chocán, este escultor encontró un hermoso madero y al primer hachazo brotó sangre. El hombre cargó el madero y encerrado en una covacha inició el trabajo de esculpir la imagen del Crucificado. Cuentan que ese hombre sólo salía a buscar sus alimentos y un día no se le vio nunca más. Los lugareños se acercaron y su sorpresa fue grande al apreciar un hermoso Cristo. Lo extrajeron y le construyeron una capilla de barro. Un día se quemó el lugar lográndose rescatar la imagen trasladándola a Querecotillo que desde 1712 era ya vicariato.  

Pero el 11 de diciembre de 1930 un voraz incendio consumió la iglesia y con ella la imagen. Los querecotillanos hicieron una colecta en todo el valle y se mandó a confeccionar una imagen similar en la ciudad de Victoria, España, para lo cual se envió una foto y un pedazo de dedo, con lo que el escultor logró una hermosa réplica, fiel a la original, que es la que hoy se venera.  

Es larga la historia de fe, milagros y tradición religiosa de esta venerada imagen, tal es así que llegan fieles de todas partes del país y sur de Ecuador para rendirle culto.

The Lord of Chocán

The image of the Mr. of Chocán it is in the temple San Francisco Javier, in Querecotillo. Their festivity has an antiquity of more than 400 years. 

The tradition says that among the hosts of Pizarro somebody that knew about sculpture came. In the walks for the Chira in the denominated place Chocán, this sculptor found a beautiful timber and to the first axe blow blood sprouted. The man loaded the timber and locked in a cave it began the work of sculpting the image of the one Crucified. They count that that man only left to look for his foods and one day was never seen more. The villagers came closer and their surprise went big when appreciating a beautiful Christ. They extracted it and they built him a chapel of mud. One day the place burned achieving you to rescue the image transferring it to Querecotillo that was already vicariousness from 1712. 

But December 11 1930 a voracious fire consumed the church and with her the image. The residents made a collection in the whole valley and it was sent to make a similar image in Victoria's city, Spain, for that which was sent a picture and a finger piece, with what the sculptor achieved a beautiful replica, faithful to the original one that is the one that today is worshipped. 

It is long the history of faith, miracles and religious tradition of this worshipped image, such it is so they arrive faithful of all parts of the country and south of Ecuador to surrender him cult. 

Der Herr von Chocán 

Das Bild vom Herrn. von Chocán ist es im Tempel San Francisco Javier, in Querecotillo. Ihr Fest hat ein Altertum von mehr als 400 Jahren. 

Die Tradition sagt, daß unter den Gastgebern von Pizarro jemand, der über Skulptur wußte, kam. In den Spaziergängen für den Chira in der bezeichneten Stelle Chocán, dieser Bildhauer fand ein schönes Holz und zum ersten Axt-Schlag-Blut, das getrieben wird. Der Mann belud das Holz und sperrte in einer Höhle ein, die es die Arbeit vom Bildhauern des Bildes vom man anfing, die gekreuzigt wird. Sie zählen, daß das nur bemannt, ging, um seine Essen und einen Tag zu sehen, wurde mehr nie gesehen. Die Dorfbewohner kamen näher und ihre Überraschung ging groß, als sie einen schönen Christus schätzte. Sie nahmen es heraus, und sie bauten ihm eine Kapelle von Schlamm. Einen Tag verbrannte die Stelle das Erreichen von Ihnen, um das Bild zu retten, das es Querecotillo übergibt, der schon Stellvertretung von 1712 war. 

Aber Dezember 11 1930 ein gefräßiges Feuer konsumierte die Kirche und mit ihr das Bild. Die Bewohner machten eine Sammlung im ganzen Tal, und ihm wurde geschickt, um ein ähnliches Bild in Victorias Stadt zu machen, Spanien, für das, dem ein Bild und ein Finger-Stück geschickt wurden, mit dem, was der Bildhauer eine schöne Nachbildung erreichte, treu zum originalen, das der ein ist, den heute angebetet wird. 

Es ist lang, die Geschichte von Glauben, Wundern und religiöser Tradition davon betete Bild an, solch es ist, damit sie von allen Teilen des Landes treu ankommen, und südlich von Ekuador ihn Kult zu übergeben.
