MONUMENTO A CARLOS A. SALAVERRY RAMÍREZ EN LANCONES Nació
en La Solana, jurisdicción de Lancones, el 4 de diciembre de 1830 y
murió en París el 9 de abril de 1891, pero sus restos fueron
repatriados en 1964 y sepultados en un mausoleo construido en el
cementerio de “San
José”
en Sullana, gracias a la iniciativa y gestiones del diputado don Luis
Carnero Checa, y para Lancones donó un busto de Salaverry que ahora se
encuentra en la plaza de Armas de este atractivo distrito. EL
Dr. Luis Alberto Sánchez, en su obra “La literatura peruana”,
define a Salaverry como el más grande de los poetas románticos del
Perú. |
