ORNAMENTAL
Ubicada
en la intersección de la Av. José de Lama y Panamericana. Fue
construida por el escultor Víctor Delfín. Es una estructura de
concreto armado tipo hongo, con fuente y cisterna para agua. Revestida
con cerámica “Las Mercedes”, en un área aproximada de 300m2.
Tiene un sistema de bombeo capaz de impulsar el agua hasta la parte
superior. Cuenta con cuatro reflectores de luz de 450 watts, que hacen
bien visible el lugar en horarios nocturnos.
El
diseño semeja un mate burilado. En él se grafican diferentes motivos
característicos de la cultura tallán que floreció en esta región. En
sí, el mate, es un utensilio casero que sigue en uso, para comer y
beber. Observamos una figura que simboliza la belleza y altivez de la
mujer tallán personificada en la capullana que predominó en nuestra
tierra. De otro lado, el lagarto, tótem tallán, divinidad antigua y
muy respetada, que abundó mucho en el Chira, dando origen a la leyenda
del famoso lagarto de oro y que aún se cree mora encantado en las
entrañas del cerro la “Nariz del diablo” en Marcavelica.
Apreciamos, además, cuatro cabezas de puma, divinidad de
nuestros antepasados los incas; de la boca de cada una de estas cabezas
brota agua que es impulsada a la parte superior de la pileta. Todo esto
representa la cultura tallán y revalora nuestra identidad cultural.
Este
lugar se ha convertido en el punto ideal para tomar fotografías.
